boat accident on Cayuga Lake on August 17th, 2002. 

This special event produces some of the most fun and competitve racing in the Hurricane Street Stock division that any race fan will witness, with the best in the
ranks of this division racing for the extra cash, hardware, and clout that goes along
with capturing this prestigious event!........

(Center Lisle, NY) People of all ages jam packed Thunder Mountain Speedway to meet the legendary Buzzie Reutimann when he made a stop at the 3/8 mile oval during the 2009 racing season.

Buzzie Reutimann is the father of David Reutimann, who drives the #00 Aaron's Dream Machine for Michael Waltrip Racing in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Reutimann has competed in the Modified division all over the east coast. Reutimann was inducted into the Dirt Motorsports Hall of Fame in 1997 and the Eastern Motorsport Press Association Hall of Fame in 2006.

Dick and Shelly Stark of Thunder Mountain Speedway are pleased to announce that Buzzie Reutimann will return to the Thunder Mountain Speedway on Friday, July 30th. His storys and personality delighted the fans and track officials last season and we cannot wait to see what he has in store for us this season.

The racing action on this night features the Carl Carpenter Memorial Midstate Vintage Stock Car Club, Modified Sportsman, Hurricane Street Stocks, DIRTcar Crate.......

(Center Lisle, NY) Track Officials at Thunder Mountain Speedway moved its Friday
Night race program to Sunday Night because of the weather forecast. Winners Included: Eddie White (Topless Modified Sportsman), Rich Talada (Hurricane Street Stocks), Gary Roberts (IMCA Modifieds), George Brown (Road Bandits) and Wayne Ross (Road Warriors).

Ryan Olsommer and Mike Wilmot led the field of Topless Modified Sportsman to the green flag for the 25-lap feature event. Olsommer would take the early lead but get slowed by a caution on lap 2 for an accident involving Brian White, Larry Hillis and others. When the field doubled for the restart it was Olsommer and Billy Spoonhower on the front row. Spoonhower moved his way passed Olsommer to take command on the front position. Eddie White made the outside groove work in his favor as he charged from his 7th starting position to take the lead from Spoonhower on lap 21. White would lead the remaining 4-laps to score his 5th win of the 2010 racing season. At the checkers it was Jim LaRock edging Spoonhower for 2nd. Tom Collins and Kenny Hammond completed the top 5 finishers. Jim LaRock and Brian White won the 8-lap heat races held for the division.

Rich Talada was the winner of the thrilling 20-lap feature event for the Hurricane Street Stocks. Talada took control of the lead on lap 13 from Earl Zimmer and held off challenges from Zimmer and Butch Green.
